Can I get a quote on phone or by email?

We can quote by phone or we’ll send you a fax quote. Many customers prefer email because they can forward it to others involved in making a decision about storage equipment.  A written quote is best.  The questions on our quote form will help clients think of things like shelving, locking systems, and planned delivery dates.

Can I get a quote on line?

You can quote and order equipment on line.  We will call you to work out the delivery details, location on site and go over position of container on your site.  It is wise to load the box with doors facing the proper direction. That way when we arrive on site, the doors will be facing the way you want them to face.

How can I find out what size box I can get on my site?

We will go over your equipment needs and discuss space needed for that equipment.  We can help you make decisions about size, location, and if necessary we will go to measure your site for no charge.

How fast can I get my container on my site?

In most cases, we can deliver within 24 hours – Monday through Friday.  If we need to make special arrangements for a weekend delivery, we can do that.

What does delivery & pickup cost?

Trucking charges are based on distance, time and the sizes of the container and the size of the delivery truck.

A straight truck with ramp is used for delivery of anything up to 20’ long.  A Tractor and tilt bed semi-trailer is used for 40’ and 45’ boxes.  We will quote the delivery cost when we do rental quote.  You will have it all on paper before you order the container.

Is site preparation required before delivery?

No site preparation is required.  We do need a good surface to operate our truck on.  We can deliver on paved surfaces, on gravel, and on dirt.  If the ground is loose sand or very wet and muddy, we may want to look at site before delivery.  There is no charge for a site inspection.  In many cases, we can provide garden timbers or pressure treated ties to level and secure the container so it does not sink into ground.

What about my underground irrigation system?

Before we arrange delivery we ask about septic tanks, underground irrigation and underground utilities. We don’t want a heavy truck to run over something that could be damaged.  Please inform your rental representative about anything else that may me on site that could be damaged.

What does a container weigh?

A 20’ container weighs about 5,000# when it’s empty.
A 40’ container weighs about 10,000# when empty.

What about low wires and low tree branches?

The delivery truck when loaded with your container will be 12’6” high to 13’6” high.  Your rental rep will ask about low wires and branches.  If you are not sure, we can do a free site inspection and measure your site.  That way no one is gambling as to whether we can we get this in and out safely.

What if I your driver can’t get the container onto my site?

When we do a free site inspection, we measure to see if delivery can be done safely.  We are advising you to go ahead with the delivery based on our 25+ years of experience.
So when we do a site inspection first, we do not charge you if we can’t deliver the container.

Does someone need to be present when you deliver the container?

We always prefer to have someone on site that knows exactly where we should place the box.  It is better for you or your designated person to watch our driver demonstrate the door locking systems.  All of our containers have galvanized door locking bars with cam locks.  They are easy to use and very sturdy.  All 20’ and larger equipment have 2 locking bars on each door.  You can put up to 4 pad locks on these containers.

How secure are STEEL STORAGE CONTAINERS?

We have only STEEL STORAGE CONTAINERS.  We highlight the word steel because some companies have aluminum and steel.  Steel is much stronger, much more durable and more theft resistant than aluminum.  Every one of our containers is made of steel. They all have galvanized steel locking bars, galvanized steel lock handles, and galvanized steel lock hasps.  Every 20’, 40’ and 45’ container has 4 locking bars. You can put up to 4 padlocks on these containers.  Some smaller containers are designed with two galvanized steel locking bars. You can put up to 2 padlocks on these.

You may have seen plastic storage containers and aluminum containers as well. You can decide for yourself what is more secure for your property.

Is extra security available?

Many of our containers have steel lock boxes built onto the door system.
Yes. We offer heavy duty locking systems with puck locks with no hasp that can be cut.

How much weight can I load into a container?

The typical 20’ container can handle over 50,000 pounds.  If you were to load a container with furniture, it would add about another 3,000 to 5,000 pounds.   A 20’ container filled with paper files would weigh more but still within the capacity of the box.

How can I get more efficient storage in a container?
A Plus Rental offers a variety of shelving options.  We can supply industrial type shelving, file storage shelving, plan tables, pipe racks, hose racks, racks to hang wire on, ladder racks, and shelving with 2, 3 or 4 shelves.  Talk to your rental rep for details.

Can you move a loaded container to another site for me?
We can move loaded containers but things must be packed well.  When we load a box onto the ramp truck, we tilt the bed to the ground and pull the box onto the truck with a cable and winch. Therefore, things will shift while sliding up ramp.  Also there is a weight limitation regarding how much we can safely pull with winch.  Please talk to your rental rep for more details.

Do I need permit to put a container on my property?

Some cities and towns have container regulations but most do not.  Appearance is important when it comes to neighbors and inspectors.  We offer only new one trip boxes and clean well maintained repainted boxes for rent.  You can check with your town or look on their website where many regulations are posted.

When planning on a spot for container, it is wise to put box where it will not be blocking a neighbor’s view or emergency vehicle access.  We never recommend putting a container on town property such as a side walk without permission.

How do I get billed for my rental?

Periodic Rentals

We bill at the end of each billing cycle. We prefer credit cards on all residential customers; however, we can make other arrangements.  With credit card billing, we charge the card at the end of the billing cycle.  We mail a copy of the invoice and it is marked “PAID” for your credit card records. We prorate periodic rentals to the day.  For example, if you are finished on the 3rd day of the month WE STOP CHARGING RENT ON THAT DAY.

Annual Rentals

Annual rentals are billed and paid in advance.  We discount rate for annual rentals.  Part of the discount results from reduced bookkeeping and billing expense.  In order to do annual rental, we will invoice up front for the year and get paid up front.  Annual rentals are not prorated unless the customer reverts back to a periodic rental after the annual expiration.  At the end of the year, the customer can turn in unit, rent for another year or changeover to periodic rental.

Do you offer a damage waiver?

Yes, for 10% of the amount of the rent we can cover.
